“I believe behavioral science belongs wherever people are learning, leading, growing, and building something that matters.
My mission is simple: to partner with leaders, organizations, professionals, and families to intentionally design environments where everyone can flourish.
I'm Dr. Joanne Hill Powell — a certified teacher, doctoral-level behavior analyst, entrepreneur, executive leader, wife, and proud mom of three. My career has taken me from classrooms and universities to startups and boardrooms, with experience spanning applied behavior analysis, organizational leadership, business development, professional learning, and family-centered support.
Along the way, I've discovered that while the settings may change, the principles remain remarkably consistent. Whether supporting an executive leading an organization, a founder building a company, an educator shaping a classroom, or a parent raising a child, meaningful growth begins with intentionally designing environments that support learning, connection, and measurable progress.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of helping professionals translate expertise into influence, organizations transform ideas into sustainable solutions, educators strengthen learning environments, and families build the confidence and skills to navigate life's opportunities and challenges together.
Above all, my greatest leadership lessons haven't come from a boardroom or a classroom — they've come from the privilege of building a life alongside my husband and raising our three children. Every day reminds me that leadership is not simply about achieving results; it's about creating the conditions where people feel seen, supported, challenged, and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.

Leadership begins at home.
Behavioral science was never meant to stay inside the clinic. It belongs wherever people are learning, leading, building, and creating change.

Where are you leading from?
Whether you're leading an organization, building a business, and/or raising a family, every environment shapes the people within it. The principles are consistent — the application is personal. Choose the path that fits your season, and we'll design the next step together.

The ASCEND Framework
An evidence-informed framework that reflects both behavioral science and leadership development. Six movements, one intention: design environments where everyone can flourish.
Assess
Identify values, strengths, barriers, behavioral patterns, and the current environment before anything else.
Strategize
Clarify purpose, define measurable objectives, and design the systems that quietly make success inevitable.
Create
Build the habits, leadership practices, and sustainable routines that hold under real-world pressure.
Execute
Implement with intention, accountability, and behavioral precision — not willpower.
Navigate
Adapt to obstacles, transitions, and changing seasons of life without losing momentum.
Demonstrate
Measure progress, celebrate outcomes, and refine the next phase. If it matters, we should be able to measure it.
“Demonstrate” is chosen intentionally instead of “Deliver.” It reinforces a simple belief: if it matters, we should be able to measure it.
Growth rarely begins with having it all figured out.
It begins with the right conversation, a clearer direction, and the willingness to take one meaningful next step. Tell me where you are — I'd be honored to help you find a thoughtful path forward.
